Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST)
Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, non - invasive, hands-on technique that was developed by an American Osteopath Physician approximately 80 years ago. The basic concept is that there is a continuous, subtle movement of the cranial bones resulting in a Cranial Rhythm (approx 6-12 cycles per minute - and this is thought to be in response to cerebrospinal fluid - CSF - fluctuations). There are also these subtle fluid changes elsewhere in the central Nervous System (CNS) that affect other areas of the body.
CST is a technique that uses gentle hands to detect disturbance in the rhythm and works to restore normal and full cranial motion and the release of abnormal myofascial restrictions and tensions in the body.
Benefits of CST:
Reduces stress and tension.
Regains ease of motion
Relieves headaches and migraines.
Eases chronic pain and muscle tension.
Supports recovery from injuries.
Improves overall relaxation and well-being.
During a CST session, the therapist applies soft, precise pressure to encourage balance and restore function. Many clients find the experience deeply relaxing and restorative.
CST is safe for all ages and may complement other treatments for a holistic approach to your health.
